In 2015, AMD was commissioned to work alongside The New Craftsmen and stylist Susan Skeen to create a quintessentially British dining experience in Burberry’s flagship store in London - conceived by the labels then CEO, Christopher Bailey.
Named after Thomas Burberry, the Victorian founder of what is now a globally acclaimed British luxury fashion house, the brief for the in-store split level café was to create a sanctuary away from the hustle and bustle of Regents Street, maintaining the quality and heritage of the iconic British brand whilst celebrating artistry.

Iconic meets Artistry
“I’ll be honest, the interior of this place is almost as good as the food, with stunning, sophisticated surroundings and a mixture of retro looking, yet classy furniture.”

Taking cue from the building - an 1820s mansion originally built for the Prince Regent, we endeavoured to retain as much of the building's original features as possible. We followed a neutral, earthy colour palette using crisp monochromes and chocolate browns, offsetting the high ceiling and large windows. Taking a fresh approach, we sourced vintage furniture as well as manufacturing new, bespoke pieces.
