Residency | Islington Square | 2020 - 2022
Islington Square is a place to discover something new; be that an independent restaurant, a concept bar or an unexpected boutique store. From white-boxing many of the units to designing retail spaces for Anthropologie, White Swans, New Meta and The Bottle Cocktail Shop, AMD played a crucial role in Islington Squares establishment.
As part of that ongoing partnership, whilst Islington Square was still selling retail space, AMD took over an empty unit and launched ‘Residency’ - an all-inclusive, fully flexible and eco-conscious pop-up shop solution that benefits landlords and brands alike.
The perfect blank canvas and finished to an impeccable standard, brands were able to rent Residency with total ease and at low costs. With digital assets included in the hire, as well as reusable fixtures and fittings, Residency also tackled the issue of mass waste produced by traditional pop-ups.
Temporary home to independent brands, Residency welcomed companies such as contemporary glassware brand LSA international and children's audio player Yoto for shop-wide brand activations. Residency also brought smaller brands together for group showcases, including ‘Craft by Residency’ - a pop up which showcased 13 makers - during London Craft Week in 2021.
Residency was featured in Wallpaper, Stylist, FT, Elle Decoration, Frame and Sheerluxe.
