New Meta | Islington Square | 2022
In August 2022, AMD created a unique internet and cyber cafe for leisure brand New Meta in North London’s Islington Square. As the brands first physical space, across 900 sqm our brief was to create the “go-to place” for PC gamers and e-sports fans, who intend to visit the space to use high-end equipment whilst enjoying food, drinks and socialising.
Keeping budget in mind, we decided to play with light to visually brand the space and make it feel like it's own world once entered. By using blue LED lighting, we were able to enhance the deliberately exposed, sculptural like service trays that feed each computer terminal, bringing a slight SCI-FI feel to the space. The gaming desks were designed by us, as well as all other bespoke fixtures.
Managing this project from start to finish, the design resulted in a cool place for like minded gamers to hang out, view live streaming and take part in competitions.
